I am really glad to be posting today, i have had the sickies for a while, but i am on the winning end of this crazy cold. I am sooooooo ready for spring! I am ready to let my kids go screaming out the back door into the yard to play and not have to bundle them up and put layers and layers on for 15 minutes of freezing in the snow!!! I am ready to see green grass, and the start of tiny plants poking through the dirt! ugh. So anyway, i got that out of my system and i am prepared to go on with this post.
I have been thinking lately about books. Books and i used to have a close relationship. But over time we have drifted apart and i find myself missing their company. You know how great it is to snuggle into a blanket and read a super great book. I used to read all the time, but then hubs changes things ( for the good), kids change things ( for the gooder- its a word, really) and books had to take a back seat. Well i am going to change this, tomorrow i am taking my big butt to the library and get me some book action. I want to read a book called "Fablehaven". Frenchy over at Le Chateau des fleurs by Frenchy read it and they rave about it. come back and see how it turns out!!
I gotta admit, i was horribly embarrassed to submit my craft for the iron craft challenge this week- it just didnt turn out the way i wanted, you know, it happens, right? I feel like i have been in a slump lately, but i am determined to get out of it. Anyway, we were to make our own Valentines Day card..I used card stock i had left over from another project and made it work. I wantedit to look like something a child would create, but, still be chic.. didnt pull it off. This is ok, dust myself off and get ready for the next one! I cannot wait to put a reasonable dent in my stash so i can get back to shopping for craft supplies!!! i made a promise to myself and i intend to keep it. I know , i am a total broken record, but you HAVE to go to iron craft and check out these ladies- amazing.
Okay, i was kind of saving this for last.. super excited to share this info..I WON SOMETHING!!!!! WOOOO HOOO! My friend amber from dragonflysweetnest.com ( love her) has helped me alot with my blog and my lack of knowledge with the computer. Anyway, she wins great things, CRAZY things from contests and sweepstakes. I totally suggest you try this, think smart about it, win stuff put it back for gifts for people!! cha ching- saved some cash. Okay, here it is... Mr. Fed ex guy brought me this!!
I won Chiquita bannana stuff!!! Sooo cool! Sorry , the picture is super stinky, but i am working on my skills,or lack there of. I won a great tote, recipe cards, bibs, freezer bags, AND a coupon for FREE BANNANAS!! So now i am totally into contests!! Its fun, and takes minutes- give it a whirl.
A LITTLE BIT O INFO: My husband and i have wrestled with starting to buy things in bulk.. see, the cheapo in me doesnt feel like its cheaper.. So i did some research and there are some things that one may not want to buy in bulk. Brown rice- its shelf life isnt as long as white rice , so it will go bad. But you can refrigerate it to make it last longer.( i had nooo idea), aoso toilet paper and paper towels, due to the amount of space they take up in your home, last but not least, any kind of bread. Of course this depends on YOUR home and only you know how quicky your household will go through groceries like these. I just found interesting. Never the less, hubs and i are going to our Sams club (no cosco here local) and getting "signed up". Hopefully have some great savings to share! take care and be extra special nice to someone.. never know, they may really need it.
